Zynga East was created as the first external studio for Zynga, the world leader in social gaming. The studio was founded as a talent magnet for game design expertise in the Hunt Valley corridor. The team’s first effort, 2010’s “Frontierville,” redefined social games with a healthy dose of learnings from the traditional game space, and was a big success for Zynga. Zynga Inc. is the world's leading provider of social game services with more than 240 million monthly active users playing its games, which include CityVille, Zynga Poker, Draw Something, Hidden Chronicles, FarmVille, CastleVille, Words With Friends, Scramble With Friends, Indiana Jones™ Adventure World and Mafia Wars. Zynga's games are available on a number of global platforms, including Facebook, Zynga.com, Google+, Tencent, Apple iOS and Google Android.

Tim is very happy to have been a part of the growth of the Baltimore-area game development community for over 20 years now. He was a team member on the original Civilization, and worked on several iterations of this classic franchise, which is often ranked one of the best games of all time. Eventually Tim founded Big Huge Games with several other area veterans in 2000, and led the business & development side of the company through eleven years and two acquisitions. He is now very excited to be part of the “New Frontier” of social games with Zynga. We’ve finally figured out how to bring “play” to *everyone* on the planet, not just adolescent males, and he looks forward to fulfilling our mission of “Connecting the World Through Games.”
